Thanks for checking out our website. We’re glad you’ve found Hope Community Church. We would love to see you at one of our Sunday services (we call them Central Teachings), but we understand that stepping into a church building can be daunting at times. We’ve included a list of commonly asked questions below so you can know exactly what to expect when you come. We believe in treating people the way Jesus did– we don’t want you to be worried about what to wear or whether or not there will be an offering, or even how “good” you are. We’re people too! We know that if you’re looking for answers that life isn’t providing, they can be found in the person of Jesus. The invitation to join us is wide open and we can’t wait to meet you!
Sunday Teachings and Worship | 9 & 11 AM
1300 Tinsman Ave, Williamsport, PA 17701
What is the service like?
Our service is made up of two main parts: singing and teaching.
- Singing: We recognize that singing worship songs and hymns are a way of reflecting back on what God has done for us. We don’t see this as a requirement and as such if you’re uncomfortable with the idea we invite you to simply sit and listen. Two or three songs before or after the teaching is the norm.
- Teaching: This is one of the main reasons we’re here. At Hope Community Church we recognize the Bible as our authority. Each week we’ll continue to work through a book of the Bible. The teachings usually last 50 minutes to an hour.
What should I wear?
We want you to come as you are and to come how you feel comfortable. Most of our people tend to dress pretty casual. You won’t see too many suits on Sunday morning, but you’ll be welcomed in shorts or a suit all the same. For COVID-19, we are asking people to wear a mask into the build. But after finding a seat, you are free to remove your mask or keep it on, whatever is most comfortable for you.
Is child care provided?
Yes! Currently, with COVID-19 considerations, we provide a nursery for children up through two years of age for both the 9 & 11 Central Teachings. We are working to develop and staff a second level of Children’s Ministry that will minister to children three through six years of age. More information will be forthcoming.
Where should I park?
Parking is limited in our lot, however there is plenty of on-street parking within walking distance. We just ask that you respect our neighbors and stay clear of their driveways.
Will there be an offering collected?
Offering baskets/plates are not passed during the Central Teachings. Instead, there are secure offering boxes throughout the building into which an offering may be given at your convenience. Many who participate in giving do so either through the offering boxes, our Church App, or through sending their offerings to the Church address.
