Thanks for checking out our website. We’re glad you’ve found Hope Community Church. We would love to see you at one of our Sunday services, but we understand that stepping into a church building can be daunting at times. We’ve included a list of commonly asked questions below so you know can know exactly what to expect when you come. We believe in treating people the way Jesus did– we don’t want you to be worried about what to wear or whether or not there will be an offering, or even how “good” you are. We’re people too! We know that if you’re looking for answers that life isn’t providing, they can be found in the person of Jesus. The invitation to join us is wide open and we can’t wait to meet you! Will you come?
Sunday | 9 & 11 AM
Worship at 10 AM
1300 Tinsman Ave, Williamsport, PA 17701
What is the service like?
Our service is made up of three main parts. Singing, teaching, and a Q & A period.
- Singing: We recognize that singing worship songs and hymns are a way of reflecting back on what God has done for us. We don’t see this as a requirement and as such if you’re uncomfortable with the idea we invite you to simply sit and listen. Three or four songs before the teaching is the norm.
- Teaching: This is one of the main reasons we’re here. At Hope Community Church we recognize the Bible as our authority. Each week we’ll continue to work through a book of the Bible. The teachings usually last about 45 minutes.
- Question & Answer: After the teaching, we’ll open up the floor to anyone who may have a question or comment about what was taught. This may sound weird, but we’ve found that it often generates healthy discussion that can benefit not only the person asking, but the others present on Sunday as well.
What should I wear?
We want you to come as you are and to come how you feel comfortable. Most of our congregation tends to dress pretty casual. You won’t see too many suits on Sunday morning, but you’ll be welcomed in shorts or a suit just the same.
Is child care provided?
Yes! A full-service nursery is available for children ages 0-2, and children’s services (coMission Kids) are available for children in grades preschool through 6th. All children can be checked in downstairs before the service and picked up by a parent or guardian immediately after the service
Where should I park?
Parking is limited in our lot, however there is plenty of on-street parking within walking distance. We just ask that you respect our neighbors and stay clear of their driveways.
Will there be an offering collected?
Yes, but don’t feel obligated to give. We will pass an offering basket as a convenience for those who call Hope Community Church their home.
